What Google announced
On September 23, 2026, Google announced a new wave of Connected Apps for Gemini. Productivity tools include Airtable, Linear, monday.com, PandaDoc, Wispr AI and Zoho; creative tools include Adobe, Picsart, Squarespace and Webflow. The announcement also lists lifestyle services, which are not all relevant to business workflows.
Connected Apps are integrations that bring third-party services into Gemini’s conversational experience. Google says users can connect an app in settings, mention it in a conversation or ask for a task directly. The available actions depend on the integration; this does not mean Gemini can perform every operation available in the original app.
Where they may fit in a workflow
A project-management or database connection may reduce steps when finding information or organizing work. Document and signature tools may bring preparation and handling closer together; creative and website tools may connect ideation with production. These are plausible uses suggested by the announced categories, not a promise that every feature is already available or automated.
Measure the value across the full process: which step changes, which system remains authoritative, who checks the result and how errors or duplicates are handled. If people still copy data between services or correct inaccurate output, the integration may shift work rather than remove it.
Connections and permissions need attention
Connecting a service can give an assistant access to data that was previously separate. Before authorizing an app, review the connection flow, requested permissions, administrative settings and relevant privacy guidance. Details vary by integration and provider; the general announcement does not explain every retention or processing rule.
For a business, start with a test account and non-sensitive data to see what Gemini can access and which actions it can initiate. Apply least privilege, avoid connecting personal accounts to business workflows without approval, and decide who can remove a connection.
A rollout is not universal availability
Google said the new integrations began rolling out on the announcement date. That does not guarantee immediate availability in every country, plan, personal account or organization. Individual apps can also vary. Check current settings and documentation before relying on an integration in an operating process.
Connected Apps reflect a broader shift: AI interfaces are becoming an access point to multiple SaaS services. They do not replace integration design, data controls or accountability for approving an action. The useful question is whether they reduce friction while keeping permissions and data ownership clear.
